How can we keep the rail corridor rich in biodiversity?

A cycling and running path. Don't pave it. Keep it as a dirt or gravel road. Line the path with trees to provide shade to the users.

Path will be a dirt or gravel road, flat and beginner friendly for cyclists and runners. With big and beautiful trees lining the path, it will provide adequate shade to the users.

I don't agree that the path should be kept as a dirt or gravel road. If Singapore is encouraging everybody to keep fit, it is very difficult for young children, senior citizens and people with knee and ankle problems to jog, run or walk on dirt or gravel paths. There must be ways to keep the rustic ambience of the place without compromising on the safety of the users. I hope that the paths would have the type of padding that encourages people who are serious about exercising to use the trail.
