While the High Line and the promenade in Paris are great ideas to emulate here, we must also acknowledge that our weather is NOT like that of New York's or Paris' so alot of vegetation will be required to provide shade and if possible, there should be buildings/museums/shops on route to provide relief from the humid/rainy weather.

A composite use of the Rail Corridor
Some stretches of the Rail Corridor are not suitable for "greening". We should consider various uses to beneifit the society at large. One example is the use of the stretch between King Albert Park to Gim Moh as a by-directional carriageway to evlevate traffic crunch during peak hours.
Buildings should be preserved for use as hotels and restaurants. Other streches close to residential areas should be free up for new developments. Park connectors should also be planned for the entire route since it doesn't demand much space.5 votes -
